The Las Vegas Numismatic Society:
The Las Vegas Numismatic Society meets at Arizona Charlie’s, 740 S. Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107, in the Diamond Mae Ballroom on the 2nd floor. The doors open at 1:00 pm and the meeting starts 2:00 pm. Come spend an afternoon with other coin collectors and enthusiasts! Learn, chat and enjoy! What exactly is the Las Vegas Numismatic Society?
First established in 1957, The Las Vegas Numismatic Society (LVNS) is the local coin club. Since its beginning, the LVNS has been an organization of coin collector and enthusiasts that gather monthly to enjoy coins. This comes in the form of educational lectures, auctions, numismatic related trivia, and many other events!
Who is welcome at the meetings?
In short, anyone who has an interest in coins. The numismatic community is a fairly friendly one. If you are looking to learn its a great starting place. The meetings generally attract 70-90 members and around 10-15 guests a month. Membership is not necessary to attend a regular meeting. However, membership is required for some the other benefits of the club which include bus trips, a holiday banquet and panic. Adult membership is $25 and junior memberships are $5.
Junior memberships?
Junior memberships are for those under 18 years of age. There are numerous extra benefits for these members. There are attendance rewards to encourage coming to meetings in the first year.
Frist meeting: Free gift bag
Second meeting: Free Redbook, this book contains a wealth of information any starting numismatist will find intriguing.
Third meeting: A proof or mint set
Sixth meeting: Silver bar or round
1yr Anniversary/ 12th meeting: A silver dollar
