The Gold Standard is our quarterly publication. You can expect to find a few articles in each edition along and a preview of some of the U.S. Mint products. This quarter’s journal contains an article written by Cynthia (Cindy) Mohon. Cindy co-authored The Complete Guide to Shield and Liberty Head Nickels alongside Gloria Peters. She also has worked very closely with numerous numismatic organizations to educate and encourage new collectors. She particularly enjoyed working the boy and girl scouts. Christopher Shands, owner of Archangel Coins, met Cindy nearly two decades ago. We hope that you find our journal fun reading.
Who we are:
Archangel Coins was founded in 2013. By Numismatist Christopher Shands. Our retail store features thousands of coins, notes (currency) and related items on display. These include coins struck by the United States, other governments, and the Ancient Empires of the world. In addition to coins, we have a selection of gold and silver bullion. Although our primary business is numismatics and bullion, we do handle some categories of antiques. These include early militaria, early Native American items, antique silver, antique photography, historical memorabilia, antiquities and other related fields.
Archangel Coins’ staff have a combined 100+ years of experience in the purchase, sale, authentication and grading of coins, currency and the related fields.
